A Week's Worth of Carrying

2022, ceramic, ceramic shards, dryer lint, vacuum dust, wallpaper, dried lavender, dried lemon leaves, torn notes, cut hair, aluminum foil, salt, paper, 72” x 24” x 4”

The collection was passed down carrying all the weight, hope, and intention of the ones that came before. The only way to carry it with her was to break it down into hundreds of pieces.

She continued to carry the pieces not knowing who would next receive the collection. Her daughters? Their daughters? How large the collection would grow as intentions and ideals overwhelm a future already so full.
